Had more cuts than my man Chuck Chillout

Holidays are over everyone, back to business..Ultramagnetic MC's hail from the Boogie Down Bronx, forming in 1984 as Raps' first golden era was in full swing. Kool Keith, the two Loves (TR & Moe) and Ced Gee brought to the game an air of the ridiculous.

Abstract polysyllabic rhymes became the groups forte, but they would later become known as the forefathers of the 'chopped' sampling method, taking original samples and rearranging them into totally different compostitions, this is fully realised on the classic 'Critical Beatdown' LP from '88. Without this new method pioneered by producer Ced Gee, the sampling laid down by DJ Screw, Madlib, Pete Rock, Premier (I can go on&on) would simply not exist...we have a lot to thank UMC's for.

Following on from more out-there albums released in the early 90's the Ultramagnetics released a new album this years entitled 'The Best Kept Secret', very apt. I would love to be able to say good things regarding this LP, but unfortunately I can't, its shit. Check out the 'We About Chix' video on youtube if you don't believe me.

COMPETITION TIME - Enough talk, its winnin' time!!! This is a new feature I literally just invented where you can win FABULOUS prizes (possibly) and massive adulation (more likely) just by answering this way simple question..The Prodigy have been known to sample the Ultramagnetic MC's music, and I want you to name two tracks that have been sampled by Liam Howlett in the Prod's music (the answer may be closer than you think..). The second part of the question is; what track from 1999's 'Fat Of The Land' LP features Kool Keith rapping on it? Answers in the comments section please, ta.
